Since January 30th, the Midwest has been affected by extremely low temperatures, in some places they were even lower than in Siberia. A strong polar vortex is drifting through Michigan, Wisconsin, and Illinois and a state of emergency has been declared there. In the coming days, a temperature drop down to −58°F is expected. Weather forecasters say that these weather anomalies happen only once every 50 years.
GIGGAG has been following the developments in Chicago, Illinois and would like to show you how Chicago-dwellers have survived this historical vortex.
